Bug Fix
Parent ASINs and Variation Rollups in AI Answers
The AI Analyst and AI assistants connected to SmartScout can now look up a product's parent ASIN, list every variation in a family, and roll revenue up to one row per parent listing. This works in all 12 marketplaces.
- Parent ASIN now shows the real parent. It previously showed "false" for nearly every product. It now returns the actual parent ASIN, and stays blank for products with no parent.
- Filter by parent ASIN. Ask for the variations under a parent and get the whole family back.
- New Variation Family ASIN. This is the parent ASIN, or the product's own ASIN when it has no parent. Group by it to see one row per listing instead of one row per variation.
- Is Parent ASIN. The old true/false value now carries this name, so it is no longer mistaken for the parent itself.
- Total TTM Revenue in the 11 non-US marketplaces. Revenue now adds up as a true sum when you group products, so grouped answers no longer repeat rows. The US already had this.
Try asking:
- What is the parent ASIN of [ASIN]?
- Show the parent ASIN for each of [brand]'s top 20 products by revenue.
- List every variation under parent ASIN [parent ASIN] with its revenue.
- Roll [brand]'s revenue up by parent listing and show the top 10.
- How many variations does each of [brand]'s parent listings have? Show the top 10.
