Faster, More Reliable Revenue Trends in AI Answers

We rebuilt how AI answers read sales history, so revenue trends for brands, products, subcategories and main categories come back much faster and time out far less often. This applies to AI Analyst and to AI assistants connected to SmartScout unless noted. Brand, subcategory and main category history in AI assistants remain part of the Enterprise plan.
‍

Faster answers

• Brand and product revenue history: a single brand's weekly revenue history went from over 5 minutes to under half a second in our tests.
• Subcategory trends: monthly revenue for large subcategories used to time out. In AI assistants it now comes back in seconds, and most subcategory trend questions that used to time out now answer.
• A brand's top products: same results, several times faster in every marketplace. India went from about 30 seconds to under 4, Australia from 37 to 3.5, and UAE from 39 to 2.5.
• Top brands this year (US): ranking every brand by year-to-date revenue used to time out. It now answers in about 20 seconds or less.
• Main category trends (US): weekly and monthly revenue for any of the 40 main categories since January 2024, calculated the way the website does, in under 4 seconds.
‍

More accurate answers

• Main category names now show correctly in every marketplace. They were blank before.
• Subcategories stay subcategories: asking about a subcategory such as Wet Dog Food no longer gets answered with its main category (Pet Supplies).
• Exact name matching: brand names containing an underscore or percent sign now match only that brand, and look-alike characters no longer match a different brand.
• Accented names: keyword advertising questions about brands or keywords with accents, such as Kérastase, now work instead of erroring.
• Revenue trends match the website: history starts January 2024, and the latest month appears once it is complete, the same as on the website.
‍

Smarter handling of hard questions (AI assistants)

• Questions too broad to answer: a question that would need every product's full sales history, such as total weekly revenue across all of Amazon, now gets an explanation within seconds instead of a long wait and a timeout. Your assistant can then narrow it to a brand, ASIN or subcategory in one step.
• Subcategory spelling: a name spelled slightly differently from the real one, such as Body Self Tanners for Body Self-Tanners, now finds the right subcategory, and the answer names the exact subcategory it used.
• Subcategories that don't exist: you get an immediate, clear answer that no subcategory has that name, with similar names suggested, instead of a result that looks like zero revenue.
• Follow-ups: switching the brand, product or subcategory on a follow-up applies exactly and usually returns in under a second. If the original question excluded something, the answer says the follow-up replaced it.
