Asking for a parent subcategory's revenue

`query_analytics` returned a parent category's total with no sign that it included its child subcategories. Dry Dog Food came back as $134.6M, while the website's page for Dry Dog Food shows $105.5M, only the ASINs linked directly to it. It now returns both figures, along with how many child subcategories the total includes.

‍

## Breaking a subcategory down by its child subcategories

‍

A breakdown listed only the named children and left out the ASINs linked directly to the parent, so the rows didn't add up to the total. Phrased as "monthly revenue", the question went to the monthly history topic instead. It now returns every child plus an "(ASINs linked directly)" row, and together they add up to the parent's total.

‍

## Asking which brands lead a subcategory

‍

Brand market share by subcategory came back empty for full names like "Dry Dog Food", because the lookup matched on the subcategory's short name ("Dry"). It now matches either the full name or the short name, and never mixes two subcategories in one ranking. For a parent category, it also notes that the shares are of the revenue linked directly to it.

‍

## Total revenue for everything under a category
‍

Asking for the revenue of everything under a category added up every subcategory beneath it, which counted children twice: Dog Food came back as $424.9M instead of $180.8M. It now uses the category's own total, which already includes everything under it.

‍

## Counting the subcategories under a category

‍

"How many subcategories are under Health & Household?" returned 0 about one time in three. It now returns the correct count, 1,020, every time.

‍

## A monthly trend for a parent category

‍

A monthly trend for a parent category covers only the ASINs linked directly to it, not its child subcategories, and nothing said so. The answer now says so and names the child subcategories that aren't included.

‍

## A Business account asking for history older than 30 days

‍

The monthly product revenue and seller buy-box history added on Sept 10–11 reached Business accounts with data back to January 2024. Business is limited to the last 30 days again, and TikTok subcategory revenue history is hidden on Business too.

The subcategory and brand-share changes are live on all 12 marketplaces, in both the MCP and the website's AI chat.
